Civil Justice Council’s Costs Consultation: A panel discussion with Lord Justice Birss

A panel discussion with Lord Justice Birss, Mrs Justice Joanna Smith, Master Kaye, Nicholas Bacon QC and Richard Langley

The CJC is conducting a wide ranging consultation as part of it's "holistic" review of costs, focusing in particular on:

1) Costs budgeting;

2) Guidline hourly rates;

3) Costs under pre-action protocols/portals and the digital justice system;

4) The consequences of the extention of fixed costs.

This LSLA event forms part of the Civil Justice Council's consultation and will be an opportunity for attendees to contribute to it. Lord Justice Birss will be joined by a panel of CJC Cost Working Group members and members of the LSLA for a discussion of all aspects of the consultation with a particular focus on commercial litigation. The panel will take questions and be pleased to hear comments.

The panel discussion will be followed by drinks.
