Bank Collapses – what was different in the 2023 cases of SVB and Credit Suisse?

Mark Phillips KC and Edoardo Lupi of South Square

Banking collapses give rise to two questions: what was the cause? And how do we prevent similar collapses in future?  City litigators will not need an especially long memory to know how profoundly the ongoing search for an answer to these questions have affected litigation practices in this jurisdiction and overseas.  But no two banking crises are the same.  Our speakers will give their initial views on this still-developing situation, and its potential impact on London’s litigation market.

Each lecture will begin at 6 p.m., and will last approximately one hour, which will include an opportunity for questions.  The lectures will be followed by an opportunity for drinks and networking.  Materials and, if practicable, a video recording will appear on the LSLA website after the event.
