“How does London keep its disputes crown – a panel discussion”

Chaired by Lord Wolfson KC of One Essex Court

The London lawyers: Mona Vaswani of Milbank and Alison Wilson of Linklaters

The European challengers: Jacques Bouyssou of Alerion Avocats (Paris) and Frans Overkleeft of NautaDutilh (Amsterdam)

The past years have been turbulent ones for the London disputes market, what with Brexit, Covid, Ukraine sanctions, and a looming recession.  Will London maintain its crown as one of the world’s foremost venues for international dispute resolution?  What are the challenges London will have to meet in the coming years?  Lord Wolfson will lead a panel discussion on this topic, of urgent interest to LSLA members!

As a former Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice – as well as a leading commercial practitioner – Lord Wolfson KC is well-placed to chair the discussion.  The panel will feature representatives not only from the London legal market, but also from our potential rivals in Paris and in Amsterdam.  How do other markets see us?

Please join us for what promises to be a lively evening of discussion.

Please note that this discussion will begin at 6.15pm – a change from the original time – and will last approximately 1 hour and will be followed by an opportunity for drinks and networking.  Materials and, if practicable, a video recording will appear on the LSLA website after the event.
