Attendance is not limited to LSLA members. Anyone can apply for tickets on the attached form. The lectures count for CPD purposes (the reference code will appear on the admission tickets for the lectures). The cost is £20 per event or £70 for all four (non-members £25 or £90). Our lectures are usually sold out, so please apply early for tickets.
The lectures will usually be held in the Auditorium at Hogan Lovells, Atlantic House, 50 Holborn Viaduct, London EC1A 2FG. They will start at 6.00 pm and will last approximately an hour, to include a period for questions at the end, and will be followed by drinks.

James Price QC and Adrienne Page QC – 5RB
James Price QC looks at whether the Defamation Act 2013, which received Royal Assent in April 2013 and came into force on 1 January 2014, is really as radical as it appears at first glance.
Adrienne Page QC will then discuss whether, looking to the future, it may not be so much the letter of the reforming legislation, but rather the steady rise in the influence of Article 8 in areas of English domestic law beyond defamation that ultimately determines whether, in the courts, the free speech campaign has been won or lost.

Javan Herberg QC talk will survey recent activity in the Regulatory Decisions Committee of the FCA and matters referred from there to the Upper Tribunal. The talk will examine, from the perspective of a firm or individual wishing to avert or resist FCA disciplinary measures, procedure and tactics.
